According to reports, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange will make a guest appearance in ‘The Simpsons‘ 500th episode. Assange, recorded his lines in a secret location and was unable to meet with producers because of his current house arrest legal status. The special 500th episode will air on February 19th, and will feature Assange who is billed as their “new Ned Flanders.” Simpsons executive producer Al Jean admitted to Entertainment Weekly that there had been discussion internally over whether to use Assange and how they could make his cameo “satirical” so it did not have any potential to mess with his legal situation. In addition, Jean also revealed that there will be several other celebrity guest set to make cameos in the special episode. In related news, Julian Assange appeared at the British Supreme Court today, to appeal efforts to extradite him to Sweden to face allegations of sexual misconduct and rape. Last year, his appeal was dismissed by the British High Court, but he won the right to further review before the Supreme Court on the technical grounds.
